TURN UP THE VOLUME!!

I have been having an obsession for anything huge. Anything with volume has been calling my name. I was going through FALL 16 Haute Couture and I couldn't help but notice tons of voluminous everything. Makes my sticking fingers start itching. My favorite is puffy sleeves and full skirts! I LOVE THEM :)

HIGH HEELS WHAT?

For a former high-heel spokes person. If you did not know I was appointed as such by the high heel queen, now you know. My handed my resignation after I discovered that corns and sore feet are no where in my vocabulary. These concrete streets in New York will make sure you know that!

Nowadays, these stomping grounds now see me in sneakers and loafers. But there is a certain look that is coming back from the 90's. The High heel loafer. 

Loafers are pretty much your go to comfy shoes, now add a little heel to make it a comfy shoe with some sass. I could totally see myself wearing them with  a midi skirt or cropped pants.

SPRING TRENDS 2016

Hello my dears. It's that time again!! New season means a different wardrobe. One that is light, frilly and colorful. I love it!! I appreciate seasons and I find myself extremely ecstatic right at the end of winter just about to usher in Spring. The air smells different, the day light tend to sticks around longer, people seem more happy with their heads held high. No arctic blast or extreme wet conditions to have us hunkered down and sick and tired of cabin fever. 

Alright, back to the situation at hand, here is what you need to know before you stow away your beautiful coats and sweater. Spring/ summer trends that will be  

THE 70'S ARE HERE TO STAY

This trend is here to stay. We saw it in the fall, it's back again this spring. All things suedE, fringe, cut- offs, baggy pants. 

THE SPANISH INFLUENCE

The color red is my favorite color, so i is true to say I have a thing for the Spanish influence. Think hot, spicy colors, huge flounces and frills. Wear them with the sexiness of a tango dancer

Flowy prints are the epitome of romance. They make you want to twirl about like Lupita on the red carpet. Pleated skirts were all the rage this past fall, nothing much has changed this season.

13 WAYS TO ROCK OLIVIA POPE'S COAT THIS WINTER. IT'S HANDLED!!

I was having a conversation with my home girl about how important coats are in the winter. Coats and good shoes. The rest you just layer up. We started cracking up when we started mentioning get-ups that we could get away with while rocking a bomb coat. You could rock some pajamas, layer with a warm sweater, chunky scarf, a beautiful coat, some booties and you are good to go! It has been unseasonably warm the past week or so but with winter right around the corner. It's best to be prepared so that when winter strolls in all cold and frosty you are ready. A coat does a lot to your outfit. One it adds a glam factor, two it provides warmth and three your look becomes unabashedly feminine even with pajamas on.

FIVE WAYS TO ROCK YOUR FAUX STOLE

With the cold weather upon us, I will be looking for super stylish ways to bring life to the winter garb. After the casual on fifth post  where I had added a super chic stole on my coat, most of you noted on the glam factor of the coat. What I failed to mention is that the coat came separate from the stole. I got the stole from HM and the coat from ZARA. Put them together and BAM!! Uber chic! 

Here are five more ways to rock your faux stole making your look go from just ok to FAB!!!

TEN FALL/ WINTER COLOR TRENDS TO BRIGHTEN YOUR CLOSET

Without a doubt fall is one of my favorite season. It's never too hot nor too cold, it's pretty and pleasant. The colors change, the clocks jump back, the thought of something new is always in the air, or may be it's with all the festivities that we shall soon be undertaking. All in all, doing a mini research on this years color fall winter color trends was an eye-opening experience. Designers sent out creations filled with a beautiful array of color pallets. I came across colors like Saffron and Marsala (0range-brown and a burgundy for my basic intro to color readers), rose, midnight blue, so without further a do. Let's jump in to all these beautiful colors.

SAFFRON

Food and fashion, yup they do go together, Saffron has been spicing up the runways and will be doing so in clothing stores near you. It's a dark muted orange that goes well with neutrals such as navy, black, cream. Jazzy up this spicy color with a hot pink for that wild pairing combo.

ROSE

One thing that comes to mind when I see this color, sweetness. Think marshmallows or cotton candy. It is a gentle and composed pink which can be played up with other pastels. You can cut down all the sweetness by wearing it tailored rather than a flowing skirt. To ground the sweet ensemble completely, pair it with blacks, navy, and charcoal. 

STORMY WEATHER

Who comes up with these names? Honestly? All I see is gray right? Wrong... Stormy weather is reminiscent of an overcast day, gray and cool. A color that seems to cover the sun making us feel sleepy or under the weather. Yeah! That doesn't sound appealing at all. However, it is a very strong color that makes a bold statement. Think of a boulder that is constantly crushed by the waves yet remains unmovable. Had to play up with your imagination a little bit. For a festive kick, go with a metallic number, feeling a little bit playful, pair it up with popping colors. It is  a color that is constant and dependable thus implying quality and luxury. A go to color for top notch CEOs. So grab a coat in a stormy weather hue and unleash your inner boss. 

OLIVE

Pantone called it Dried sage. Supremly used in khakis and military uniforms, this color has been elevated to all things sophisticated and chic. It's organic and natural, a perfect undertone to any color and I mean any!! 

COCONUT

No white after labor day? Archaic right. Creamy whites and soft ivory tones are a go to this season. Pair it with  dark neutrals. If you happen to go for the white, go for textures and volume.

AMETHYST ORCHID

The crown jewel of the Pantone fall/winter color report. Anything with hint of purple makes me think of royalty. Amethyst Orchid takes both a precious jewel and a flower, combing them to create such a lovely hue that even the violets are jealous. It's an intriguing color which evokes a certain sense of calm along with its sensuality, kind of like a lazy Sunday morning spent under the covers with a lover. It's languid which holds a whole lot of mystery under its pristine waters and bold enough to mark it's way on the Fashion Week runways.  It inspires creativity, excitement, energy. Tone it with muted gray-greens and deep blues. Play it up a notch with warm colors like marigold and Oranges.

NAVY

This color is almost as popular as black. They could be sisters for all we care. Like it's aforementioned sister (black) it gone be worn head to toe on it's own and it's very slimming. Color psychologists say it's a color that gets you in a contemplative mood, thoughtful and composed, still in meditation. It's no wonder any serious like profession swears to it like an oath. Hello there lawyers! It's a cool, sophisticated color without any doubt. Navy is the ideal backdrop for more unusual colors, which intern make it look modern. Pair it with orchid, oranges, soft green, and mustards.

CADIMIUM ORANGE

Orange is definitely the new black. This warm playful color evokes a return to the 60s and 70s evoking a sentiment of optimism and fantasy. May be it's the hippie in me but this color has a playful hidden nature which is not on your face like some crazy bright orange hues.  It can stand alone or pair it with soft neutrals like camel or toffee or even pale pinks.

MARSALA

Marsala is a winey red-brown that adds finesse and savoir faire. Just jotting that down makes me want to grab a glass of pinot noir, and watch scandal.... I meant Empire. Anyone excited that the Fall shows are back soon. Like a week away soon? Back to Marsala, it is a rich and robust color. Marsala incorporates the warmth and richness of a tastefully fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness. Even though it is considered earthy, it has a flair of drama. Pair it with reds, pinks, chocolate browns and even black.

CRIMSON RED

I had to squeeze it in here. It's after all my favorite color!!! Crimson red, fire-engine red, classic  red, I don't care if it's fifty shades of red I love it. Apart from my very biased opinion, designers like Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci and Delpozo showcased looks with this vibrant color. Red is bold, it's loud, it's bad in a good way (wink!) and it captures your attention. This winter won't be dull with this color in your closet. So fire up your inner siren with this sexy color you foxy lady!! Grrrrr
