BEING BALD
"Why did you go Bald?"
I usually get asked that question all the time. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me that question, I would probably have a super loaded bank account.
I had braids summer of 2014 and as September rolled in. I did not what to do with my hair. After years of weaves, chemicals, and now braids, I wanted something different. My hair had been weakened by the constant weaving and braiding. to top that off, I was bored. I figured cutting it would not be a bad idea.
For most part of my high school, I had short hair and it's with nostalgia that those days of easy maintenance, a low budget hair do that came to mind. Stepping into the showers with no shower cap, jets of whatever blessing the scalp, zero flat irons, or blow driers. The only blow dryer would be mother nature puffing upon my scalp! Goodness! I missed it all!!
To quote one of my favorite designers of all time, Madame Coco Chanel once said,
"A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life."
I did not go through a horrible breakup, I did not have an epiphany or a life changing event. Nostalgia was the main reason why I did it. Plus I look hella good being bald. A few of my friends have asked me if I will ever grow it back again. The answer to that is probably, but not in the next two or three years. I am enjoying this bald look so much.
